Listen live as a complex Horace Rumpole legal case develops.
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
The genius of John Mortimer’s Horace Rumpole is one of literature’s most famous legal minds. Acclaimed actors Julian Rhind-Tutt and Jasmine Hyde will read extracts from the Horace Rumpole stories which began in the late 1950s, and which reflect many of the issues of the time; with a death penalty for murder, and when homosexuality was a crime. A Rumpole defence case will unfold and we’ll witness the thorny, often comic relationship between Rumpole and his wife Hilda.
