EXPLORE THE HISTORY & HERITAGE OF THE SPENCERS
The Spencer family stately home since 1508, Althorp brings over 500 years of history to life before your eyes.
DISCOVER THE POTENTIAL AT ALTHORP
The Althorp Estate offers unique possibilities for filming and photography – either in the 90-room House, in the beautiful 550-acre Park, or on the wider 13,000-acre Estate.
A TRADITION OF ENTERTAINMENT
Once the scene of courtly balls, political meetings and even a secret marriage, each intriguing room in the house now provides an inspirational backdrop for an array of present-day events.
THE ESTATE
Beyond the public face seen by the tens of thousands who visit Althorp each year, the Althorp Estate extends much further - covering 13,000 acres of beautiful countryside.

Welcome to Althorp

We are delighted to announce Althorp will open the grounds to visitors for the month of August!

Visitors are invited to enjoy a picnic on the lawns and spot the rare black fallow deer, a simply glorious place to spend the day being inspired.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, Althorp will not be opening the Main House, Café, Gift Shop or Exhibitions.

Althorp will be opening the grounds on a one-way walking system to minimise the risk to all visitors and staff. There will not be an opportunity to purchase a ticket or guide book at the gate. Tickets to the grounds will only be available to purchase online prior to arrival.
